Early to Bed

Last week I was fighting off a looming cold. I hasn't turned into a full blown cold since I've been doing everything to fend off the attack -- drink plenty of fluids, get vitamin C, plenty of rest etc. In the Plenty of Rest Department I've been trying to go to sleep earlier. I'm a night owl so my typical night is staying up 'til about 1am surfing the net, watching TV, playing video games - it wasn't because I have trouble sleeping, I just didn't feel like going to bed. Going to bed so late and getting up early, around 6:30am to go to work, didn't leave much room for dreams and I'm sure there are some other adverse health issues in there somewhere. Since I've kept this sleep schedule for as long as I can remember, I have yet to recall the last time I've ever had a dream.

The other night I hit the pillows at 10pm and had not one, but three separate dreams. They were short but interesting none the less. The first dream was a direct result of what I was doing before drifting off. I was on my iPhone browsing the App Store and when I feel asleep and I had a dream that I was doing just that. While in the dreamland app store I came across the finished app a friend of mine is currently still working on, but instead of a product developed by droidsoftware.com (coming soon) I saw something to the nature of TE111.com. I knew for a fact this wasn't the right developer, but the correct app and this was indeed his company. The dream then ended, I woke up for a second and then it was back to bed.

The second one was a bit bizarre. I was in the house of another friend of mine, but it looked slightly different from its real life counterpart. We were in the living room with two couches. I was on one side on a couch and my friend's girlfriend was on the opposite side on the other, while he was standing in the middle talking. It was then we hear the growl of their cat, Sylvester. Sylvester then runs into the room onto the couch where my friend's girlfriend was sitting, and then begins to climb vertically - and very fast I might add - up the wall to the ceiling. He clings to the ceiling for a second and then comes back down back onto the couch, and then to the floor.  He then runs to my side and does the same, up the wall to the ceiling, clings and down again. He repeats this about three or four times and it was like watching a skater on a ramp but furrier. My friend and his other half during the time were frantically trying to calm down their pet at the same time keeping their distance during its freak out session. The dream ended, probably because my brain feared a sharp flying claw, or four to the face.

The final dream I don't remember that well, but what I do remember is that I was in a Grand Theft Auto like video game. Instead of killing people however I was luring someone to a specific spot, the top of a bell tower of an old abandoned stone church. I don't know why this person (or people) was chasing me or if they intended to harm me. Also I had no clue why I was luring them to this bell tower. I did end up making it to the tower and in typical fashion my dream ended, just in time for work.

I'm going try to replicate this experience and see what results I get. I'll let you know how it turns out.
