    G Journal

This is the section dedicated to one my favorite pastime, video games.  The idea of creating a dedicated gaming journal came from a Gamers w/ Jobs episode, where they discussed how their pod cast could also double as a journal, chronicling their history in gaming.  Since I do a decent amount of gaming, time allowing, I figured there should be a dedicated section for it. Also this section won't just be for games of digital nature, but new and fun board/card games I come across.

There's a Zombie on your lawn

I've never had a lot of fun playing tower defense games. The majority of TD games I played are on the iPhone and I've only gained marginal enjoyment out of them. The only surviving one on my phone is Geo Defense, and its crushing difficulty doesn't necessarily make me jump for joy in anticipation to play it.

This all changed when I got Plants vs Zombies for the iPhone. I tried out the demo on the PC and was entertained, but the touch controls on the iPhone make this game a must have for the iPhone. The difficulty increases gradually so the fun lasts longer and the graphics are great.

For those who don’t know, or haven’t figured it out yet, PvZ is a game where you defend your house from a horde of zombies using your supernatural botanical skills. Cherry Bombs, Pea Shooters, Wall-Nuts etc. are all part of your arsenal to fend of the undead. The zombies also have some tricks of their sleeves utilizing road cones, pots and doors for armor. There are also special zombies who pole vault your walls and Michael Jackson (they’re not really called this in the game) zombies who spawn additional dancer zombies to show the player who’s bad!

At $3 bucks this game gives you a lot more than your money’s worth.

    DJ Hero

I've been very reluctant to jump on the rhythm game bandwagon, mostly due to the fact that a new one seems to come out every six months or so. What's the point of buying one when a new one is just around the corner? The only aspect of the previous music games I liked was the guitar to the idea of purchasing a whole band set didn't even register with me, especially since I don't host many people. When DJ Hero was announced I was very interested mainly because I'm attracted to turntablism more than rock music. I took the plunge a couple weeks ago into DJH and it pretty much went beyond my expectations.
