The city has been experiencing rolling blackouts and I immediately concluded that this was the beginning of the zombie apocalypse, and I was right, because today Zombie Apocalypse was released for PSN and XBox Arcade. Twin stick shooters have been all the rage on the iPhone and on consoles with the Geometry Wars franchise and ZA continues the trend as a $10 download on XBox and PS3, sorry Wii.
I took the PS3 demo for a ride and I was hooked. I remember enjoying Geometry Wars Galaxies in the same way, and I don't know why but there's something satisfying about a really good twin shooter. I've tried a few on the iPhone and while they're entertaining it just doesn't compare to the joysticks on a controller.
The game is just fun, I played it four times testing all four characters. Left 4 Dead really jump started that whole "four survivors of a zombie outbreak" thing huh? I'm considering picking this one up...err, downloading this sometime in the near future. I highly recommend those who have a next gen to check it out.
